Kayleigh Messler is a process-driven artist working primarily in print media and fiber arts. She is a current student at MTSU where she is pursuing a BFA in Studio Art (Printmaking) and running the Tulip Poplar Press print club. Working entirely in abstraction, her work explores the ideas of labor, chance, control, and play.
My name is Jillian DeGrie, and I am a multimedia art student from Tennessee. I am a senior at MTSU studying studio art. In the future, I will be pursuing a career in editorial and advertising illustration. I just finished a solo show: Breaking the Stigma Around Autism: an Interactive Art Exhibition. This is a continuation of my overarching goal as an artist: to spread awareness about invisible disability, neurodiversity, and mental illness by making works about my personal experience living with these conditions. Information on this project and more about myself and my online store can be found at https://jilliandegrieillustration.square.site
I'm an artist who's lived in Murfreesboro for 10 years and have been creating since I was little. I mainly paint North American wildlife and pet portraits but my personal project has been painting animal skulls with embroidered flowers. I've been doing arts and crafts shows for a couple of years now and really enjoy getting to visit with the other vendors and patrons about our art! There is a link to my gallery and social media pages under my email signature if you are interested in seeing more about me and my process. Click for more information!
Mo Overholt is a current BFA candidate at Mtsu practicing printmaking. She is involved in the local arts community, working in spaces such as Hatch Show Print, and her most recent publication of work was on the cover of Number magazine. Themes she explores within her work are philosophy, labor, and cultural and personal identity.
My name is Kim. I've been focused on painting for 6 years and my work is mainly acrylic on stretched canvas and found objects. My style is surrealism. I find most inspiration from nature, then give it a twist. I have a wide range of styles and have found paint therapy works best with my mental health conditions. My day job is nursing, but my time off is spent painting.
Art by kim p. is an expression of nature viewed through the eyes and emotions of a traumatized individual finding peace and healing through art therapy.
The Boro Art Crawl was originally founded in 2015 by a group of local artists who wanted to help foster the artistic community in their hometown. We hope to unite local artists with local businesses to showcase not only great art but also the best visual arts that Murfreesboro has to offer.
View the map for June 2nd's, The Boro Art Crawl. On it, you will find highlighted a list of businesses participating in the crawl. Feel free to visit as many as you’d like, in whichever order you’d like. Among the Arts and Entertainment you'll find some will also have samples of local cuisine, and some will have live events featuring the performing and visual arts.
Selected from among our community's exceptional Arts and Entertainment resources, our artists range from Emerging and Professional to Art Teachers, and High School and College Artists of extraordinary talent, all celebrating their love of fine and performing art, and fine craft. A Visual Arts Extravaganza!
